Is my camera broken?</strong></P> <p> A: No. This disc is the Infrared filter that is necessary for quality daytime pictures. At night time the filter must move from in front of the lens to allow the camera to capture the IR light and illuminate the picture. Once the camera is powered up, it will move into the desired location for proper daytime or night time pictures. This happens instantaneously.</p> <p><strong>Q: When I plug in my remote, the screen is blue and the menu does not appear.</strong></p> <p> A: Most likely a blue screen remote is due to the proper procedure not being followed during setup. Make certain that you follow the following guidelines when setting up your camera. It will be necessary to &ldquo;Reset&rdquo; the camera by removing all the batteries and allowing it to remain powered down for approx. 5 minutes.</p> <ol> <li>Make certain the locking tab on the SD card is unlocked</li> <li>Make certain the camera is in the off position</li> <li>Install batteries following the polarity chart in the user&rsquo;s manual </li> <li>Install the sd card</li> <li>Plug in the remote control</li> <li>Finally,&nbsp; turn on the camera</li> </ol> <p>At this point you should receive 3 quick beeps and the menu should appear on the remote. If the remote screen is still blank, try a different SD card following the above sequence. If this does not correct the blue screen, contact DLC.</p> <p><strong>Q: I&rsquo;m getting pictures that are black and white and appear to be over exposed.</strong></p> <p>A: For approximately 10 minutes in the am and 10 minutes in the pm, the covert cameras will occasional produce pictures that appear over exposed. This is caused by the cameras switching to night time mode during the transition between daylight and night time. Because of the conditions that trail cameras are expected to operate, there is no way to get perfect exposure 24 hours a day. Our engineers have decided to error on the side of the camera taking IR pictures that may be slightly overexposed rather than taking under exposed pictures without IR.</p> <p><strong>Q: I occasionally get blank pictures with no animals in the picture.</strong></p> <p>A: This can be caused by a couple different things. First off, &nbsp; If you are getting a large number of blank pictures, they may be because of limbs or weeds swaying in front of the camera. This is normally only a problem during hot weather. To remedy this issue, attempt to remove any limbs/grass/weeds from in front of the camera and set the camera sensitivity to low.<br> The Covert II has a wide angle PIR sensor which has a slightly wider field of view (FOV) than the actual camera lens. This allows the camera to sense an animal earlier, and trigger sooner so the picture captures the deer just as it enters the FOV of the camera lens when set up on a trail or a confined feed/mineral station. When monitoring a food plot, field edge or broadcast feeder, it&rsquo;s possible for the animals to linger outside the FOV of the camera lens yet trigger the camera resulting in an occasional empty picture. This issue is resolved simply by applying a block over each side of the PIR lens covering approximately 1/8 inch on each side. (Black electrical tape) This can be easily removed for use of your camera on a trail to capture crossing wildlife. This only applies to the covert II. The covert I PIR FOV is slightly narrower (approx 4&rsquo; at 20&rsquo; distance) than the FOV of the camera lens. For more assistance, contact DLC.</p> <p><strong>Q: I have an early version of the Covert II and the threaded tripod insert will not accept the treads from my standard threaded tripod or tree60 camera mount.</strong></p> <p>A: It&rsquo;s possible that you have one of the very early Covert II models that were delivered with a faulty threaded insert. This insert can be easily replaced at home with instructions and parts provided by DLC or the camera can be shipped back to DLC for warranty repair. Contact DLC for further assistance.</p> <p><strong>Q: Will one remote control operate multiple cameras?</strong></p> <p>A: Yes and no. Covert I&rsquo;s have been supplied with 2 different types of remotes. Early styles had a thin black and silver plug on the remote which plugs into a remote port on the camera (not the usb port). These cameras can only be controlled with a remote from a similar styled camera. The &ldquo;New style&rdquo; remote (plugs into the usb port) will operate other Covert I&rsquo;s with the new style plug as well as all Covert II&rsquo;s.&nbsp; All Covert II remotes will work with any Covert II and new style Covert I&rsquo;s. </p> <p><strong>Q: What happens after warranty period if I have a problem with my camera?</strong></p> <p>A: DLC will provide repair service for your camera. Contact us to receive a RMA number.</p> <p><strong>Q: Can I view pictures on my remote control or onboard the camera?</strong></p> <p>A: No. Several issues arise when allowing pictures to be viewed on the remote or the camera its self. First off, LCD screens require a lot of power which would draw down the cameras battery life, lowering overall battery performance. Secondly, the available space for a viewing screen is so small, details could not be seen. Next,&nbsp; a viewing screen would add approximately $30 per unit resulting in multiple camera owners having to pay for multiple picture viewers. Lastly, we recommend spending as little time near your covert camera as possible to avoid spooking game, looking at pictures at the site of the camera creates unneeded contamination.</p> <P class=Head>&nbsp;</P> <P><BR><br /> </P></TD> <TD width=12></TD> <TD vAlign=top width=150 align=middle> <TABLE border=0 cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width=150> <TR> <TD></TD></TR> <TR> <TD><IMG alt="shim.gif (43 bytes)" src="images/shim.gif" width=150 height=12></TD></TR> <TR> <TD><IMG alt="adspacer.jpg (1886 bytes)" src="images/shim.gif" width=150 height=80></TD></TR> <TR> <TD><IMG alt="shim.gif (43 bytes)" src="images/shim.gif" width=150 height=12></TD></TR> <TR> <TD><IMG alt="adspacer.jpg (1886 bytes)" src="images/shim.gif" width=150 height=80></TD></TR> <TR> <TD><IMG alt="shim.gif (43 bytes)" src="images/shim.gif" width=150 height=12></TD></TR> <TR> <TD><IMG alt="adspacer.jpg (1886 bytes)" src="images/shim.gif" width=150 height=80></TD></TR> <TR> <TD><IMG alt="shim.gif (43 bytes)" src="images/shim.gif" width=150 height=12></TD></TR> <TR> <TD><IMG alt="adspacer.jpg (1886 bytes)" src="images/shim.gif" width=150 height=80></TD></TR></TABLE></TD> <TD width=12><IMG alt="shim.gif (43 bytes)" src="images/shim.gif" width=12 height=24></TD></TR> <TR> <TD width=12><IMG alt="shim.gif (43 bytes)" src="images/shim.gif" width=12 height=24></TD> <TD vAlign=top width=150 align=middle></TD> <TD width=12></TD> <TD vAlign=top width=552 align=left><IMG src="images/shim.gif" width=552 height=24></TD> <TD width=12></TD> <TD vAlign=top width=150 align=middle></TD> <TD width=12><IMG alt="shim.gif (43 bytes)" src="images/shim.gif" width=12 height=24></TD></TR> <TR> <TD width=12><IMG alt="shim.gif (43 bytes)" src="images/shim.gif" width=12 height=24></TD> <TD vAlign=top width=150 align=middle></TD> <TD width=12></TD> <TD class=text_small vAlign=top width=552 align=middle>© 2009 DLC Covert Scouting Cameras. <HR SIZE=1> <P>&nbsp;</P></TD> <TD width=12></TD> <TD vAlign=top width=150 align=middle></TD> <TD width=12><IMG alt="shim.gif (43 bytes)" src="images/shim.gif" width=12 height=24></TD></TR> <TR> <TD></TD> <TD vAlign=top align=middle></TD> <TD></TD> <TD class=text_small vAlign=top align=middle><IMG src="images/shim.gif" width=552 height=24></TD> <TD></TD> <TD vAlign=top align=middle></TD> <TD></TD></TR> <TR> <TD bgColor=#000000></TD> <TD bgColor=#000000 vAlign=top align=middle></TD> <TD bgColor=#000000><IMG src="images/shim.gif" width=1 height=24></TD> <TD class=text_small bgColor=#000000 vAlign=center align=middle><SPAN class="text_small style2"><A href="http://www.webrenewal.com" target=_blank>Web Design by Barbara E.
