General FAQ's

Q: My camera has a small lens or disc moving around in front of the actual camera lens. Is my camera broken?

A: No. This disc is the Infrared filter that is necessary for quality daytime pictures. At night time the filter must move from in front of the lens to allow the camera to capture the IR light and illuminate the picture. Once the camera is powered up, it will move into the desired location for proper daytime or night time pictures. This happens instantaneously.

Q: I’m getting pictures that are black and white and appear to be over exposed.

A: For approximately 10 minutes in the am and 10 minutes in the pm, the covert cameras will occasionally produce pictures that appear over exposed. This is caused by the camera switching to night time mode during the transition between daylight and night time. Because of the conditions that trail cameras are expected to operate, there is no way to get perfect exposure 24 hours a day. Our engineers have decided to error on the side of the camera taking IR pictures that may be slightly overexposed rather than taking under exposed pictures without IR.

Q: What happens after warranty period if I have a problem with my camera?

A: DLC will provide repair service for your camera. Contact us to receive a RMA number.
